Cleaning a room is not emptying it
The expectation that a cleaning contractor will remove a mattress is common and understandable, because the room is untidy and cleaning contractors deal with untidiness. But bulk items need a vehicle, a disposal route and often a council booking, and moving them out of the room without any of those simply relocates the problem to a driveway. Councils also have their own rules about how bulk items may be presented.
Saying so clearly at the quoting stage prevents a recurring disappointment. The scope covers the room's surfaces and the general waste that belongs in a bin. Bulk items are reported, with a note on how much has accumulated, so the building can arrange its collection. That report is genuinely useful because nobody else is counting. Buildings usually act on it once they can see how fast the room fills.
