Sizing the task list to the time available
A two-hour window and a four-hour task list is a plan to fail. What happens in practice is that the crew works fast, finishes badly and leaves before the last item, and nobody records which item that was. Over a few months the same tasks are always the ones dropped, and the areas they cover deteriorate without anybody deciding they should. That is a specification problem rather than a performance one.
Building the list to fit means being explicit about what is included every cycle and what rotates across cycles. Traffic lanes, the loading approach and waste areas every time; wall lines, corners and detail work on a stated rotation. The operator can see the cycle, check it, and know that the rotating items are being covered rather than quietly abandoned. Written this way, an unexpectedly short night costs one rotating item rather than three.
